What is Gift Aid?
Gift Aid is a tax relief which allows UK Charities to reclaim an extra 25% on every eligible donation made by a UK taxpayer. Thorley u3a is a registered charity and your £15.00 annual membership subscription is allowed as an eligible donation for Gift Aid purposes.
Due to government freezes on tax free allowances and the state pension increases, many more of us may find ourselves now paying tax. Last year we were able to claim £1,435 in Gift Aid. If more of our membership are now paying tax we may be able to increase this in future years. This money can then be used to help our groups in different ways.
A 'Gift Aid Declaration Form' will be available from the membership desk at our monthly meetings or you can download a form using the link below.

If you are a UK tax payer and would like Thorley u3a to benefit from your Gift Aid allowance, please complete the form and return it to us. This will not cost you any more money, it just allows us to make a tax claim of 25% of your annual subscription from HMRC.
If you have already signed up for Gift Aid, you do not need to complete another form.
If you stop being a UK tax payer for any reason, please let us know and we will stop claiming against your membership subscription fee.
