Meet by St Mary’s Church, Standon SG11 1LA, grid ref 194  TL396222. 5 miles. No stiles, field edges and fine views.

Park thoughtfully by the big grass triangle near the church at Church Ln, Widdington, Saffron Walden CB11 3SF. OS538318. A 5.4 mile countryside walk mostly on tracks/lanes, pretty much mud free! Featuring some attractive houses and a sensational Water tower conversion.

Un-named public car park off Cock Lane, (close to the A10), Hoddesdon, EN10 7FE is close by. A 5.3 mile walk in a new to us area. Mainly a woodland walk. No stiles.

Park in the village of Hertford Heath and meet on the green by the Goat Pub, 25 Vicarage Causeway, Hertford Heath, Hertford SG13 7RT, grid TL351116. The walk is on bridleways, a bit of town walking and through 3 nature reserves.

Park in Ware Rd, Tonwell, Ware SG12 0HN, and meet by the Robin Hood and Little John Pub. It’s 5 miles, tracks, quiet lanes and parkland.

Park in the layby on the B1004, 150 yards from St John the Baptist Church, Ware Road, Widford SG12 8RL. The walk takes in Widford and Hunsdon. It's 5.6 miles, there aren't any stiles. The walk is mostly on good paths with some extensive views.

Meet in the car park at the rear of the Birchanger Social Club CM23 5QJ. A circular walk passing through Birchanger Wood, Digby Wood and more recently developed part of Stansted.  Pretty flat throughout, no stiles. Around 5 miles.

Wed 27 May 11.00am London walk. NOTE LATER START TIME.
Meet at outside Westminster underground station, on the corner of Bridge Street and Victoria Embankment. We will walk along the south bank of the Thames to Battersea. It passes the International Maritime Organisation, St Georges dock, USA embassy, MI5 building and ends in Battersea Power Station. 2.7 miles. Lunch in Battersea. If the weather permits, we plan to bring sandwiches and sit in the deckchairs outside the Power station. It may be possible after lunch to explore Battersea park. Return by underground from Battersea station.

Park in the roads near Dave's house. 9 Lloyd Taylor Close, Little Hadham, Ware, SG11 2NB. A 5 mile walk in the area, on footpaths and some roads, and possibly meet the alpacas.

Park in the The King Harolds Head Pub car park, Bumbles Green Ln, Nazeing, Waltham Abbey EN9 2RY. A 5 mile walk with one stile. Good views over the Lea Valley. On good paths and farm tracks. Join us for a drink or light lunch in the pub afterwards.

Wed 24 June 11.00am London walk. (Note this walk was previously advertised wrongly to start at 10.00am)
From Kings Cross to Barnsbury. Journey will be train from BS to Tottenham Hale and then Kings X.This is an urban walk with lots of 19C history including Sadlers Wells and the end of the New River, interesting churches and squares. Distance is about 4 miles. Once back at Kings Cross we will finish with some time at the Coal Yards redevelopment we visited in the summer  of 2024.
